DSA Presents: School Board Challenge

Ithaca Democratic Socialists of America Presents #252:

Whitehead, who is running for Ithaca City School Board. The election
is May 16. The schools have not been very successful in helping
pupils overcome disadvantages of class and race. Stel Whitehead has a
few ideas about things to try.

Health Care hearings-Ch. 13

HEALTH CARE NOW! Series on Channel 13:

As part of a national movement initiated by Healthcare -NOW to achieve a Medicare
For ALL , Single Payer Universal Health Care Plan by 2009, we sponsored a citizen/congressional
hearing on March 18th. This 4 part series will cover over 40 speakers giving testimony
representing business, health care providers, politicians, social agencies, youth,
seniors and many others being impacted by our current system.

The hearing was co-sponsored by Tompkins County Health Care Taskforce, League of Women Voters, Tompkins County& Cortland Co., Finger Lakes Citizen Action & Social Justice Council of
First Unitarian Church Ithaca.

Airing times :

Part 3: Health Care Providers - Hear the important stories of doctors, nurses, health care providers and beneficiaries about the impact of our fragmented health care system and what it means to them personally.

Wednesday May 3rd - 1:30-2:30 p.m.

Friday May 5th - 1:30-2:30 p.m.

Part 4: Medicare Part D - Agencies and Seniors speak out about the issues and problems with the Medicare Part D Law and how this has impacted on their ability to get their medications.

Monday May 8th 7:00-8:00 p.m.

Wednesday May 10th 1:30-2:30 p.m.

Friday May 12th 1:30-2:30 p.m.

Part 2 : Repeat - Politicians speak out on Health Care
